Myers jumped out to a 8-0 lead after three innings before the game was called due to the ten-run rule. Winning pitcher Bob Garvin fanned 14 batters in six innings for Evans. Jed McCormish led Myers at the plate with a home run, double, two singles and three RBI. Garvin smacked two home runs and Jason Wise added a homer. Walt Gibson added a double.

Josh Murphy ripped three doubles to lead Hungarian Home to an 8-1 win over the Saxons in the opening game of the 42nd Ellwood City Pony League Championship Series. The win gave the Hungarian Home a one-game lead in the best-of-three series. Hungarian Home opened a 5-0 lead after three innings before taking command in the sixth innings with three more runs. Murphy led the Hungarian Home with three doubles and three RBI. Dan Carinci added two singles. The Saxons were led by Larry Pasquale, Zadock Dismuke and Zeb Bartley with two singles apiece. Winning pitcher Mike Hall scattered nine hits and fanned seven batters for the Hungarian Home.

The win gave Sitler & Lemmon a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Dave Ottavio hurled a three-hit shutout to outduel Hungarian Home's Aaron Snider one-hit, 18-strikeout effort. In the top of the first inning, Sitler & Lemmon scored the game's only run. Aaron Lilibridge walked and Kevin Ricciuti reached on a fielder's choice. A wild pitch moved both runners up and Ron Weller's ground out scored Lillibridge to give Sitler & Lemmon a 1-0 lead. Snider struck out the side in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Hungarian Home mounted a serious threat. Rick Larkin singled and Snider drew a walk. A wild pitch put the tying run at third base and the go-ahead run at second base. Ottavio snuffed out the attempted rally with two strikeouts and a groundout to preserve the shutout. Sitler & Lemmon scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. After a scoreless second inning, the Hungarian Home tied the score with a run in the top of the third inning to tie the score at 1-1. Hungarian Home took the lead with two runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead. Sitler & Lemmon sliced the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the inning. Hungarian Home exploded with their 17-run barrage to take a 20-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning. The game was called after the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule. The Hungarian Home scored solo runs in the second and third innings to knot the score at 2-2. After a scoreless fourth inning, Hungarian Home scored five runs in the fifth inning. Hungarian Home combined a walk, two errors and a single by Aaron Graebing and two-run singles by D.J. Daufen and Mley to take a 7-2 lead. Mley threw two scoreless innings in the sixth and seventh innings to give Hungarian Home the crown. Winning pitcher Mley did not allow an earned run on a five-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Hungarian Home scored twice in the top of the third inning to take a 3-1 lead. Sitler & Lemmon scored a run in the bottom of the inning to cut the deficit to 3-2. Hungarian Home scored twice in the top of the fourth inning to up their lead to 5-2. Sitler & Lemmon rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 6-5 lead.
